Soul Crushers
A former victim of psychological violence, I am sharing my personal story in the hope that others will wise up to their abusers. I was married to a man who amongst other things was a sex addict. As he watched hours of pornography I was locked out of rooms in our house and ultimately our marriage. When he wasn’t watching ugly porn stars he enjoyed bullying, pushing and shoving me around, his words and hands slowly crushing my soul. Eventually his sexual addiction led to affairs, incest and other sexual offending. His name now appears on the Internet sexual offenders list.
This book is for you if your partner does any of the following to you: Frightens, isolates, controls money, lies, cheats, pushes, threatens to hit, minimizes wrong doing, uses put downs, manipulates, plays mind games, sexually interferes with your children or watches excessive pornography. This book is also for you if a family court appointed psychologist appears to have written a biased report about you.
There is a saying “Just because people say something is the truth that does not necessarily the truth make it”. I was not ugly, my children were not liars and my abuser was not invincible. They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I might still carry my invisible scars on the inside but I am no longer a victim of domestic violence. Instead I prefer to call myself a strong survivor. My hope is that through sharing my story other victims will see there is light at the end of the tunnel and refuse to remain martyrs any longer.
About the Author
Jamie Bond has a degree in education. She has worked in primary
schools in New Zealand as a relief teacher and has a heart for
children. Her reference from teachers college describes her as a
refreshingly honest person who seeks the truth about the things she
cares about. A passion for writing and performing music, Jamie has
spent many years playing keyboards and singing in bands. However
it is not her passion for music nor her academia that qualifies her to
write this book. Rather it is the invisible scars she carries in her head
from mental abuse. This is her story.
